Believe it or not but many women who suffer period pain liken it to having a heart attack. Around 80% of women experience period pain. Most women experience discomfort during menstruation for a couple of days but around 5% to 10% of women the pain is severe enough to disrupt their life.

Professor of reproductive health at University College London, John Guillebaud, in a report said that women described the cramping pain as ‘almost as bad as having a heart attack’.

What causes menstrual disorders?

Not every woman has regular periods. Sometimes, they are irregular, sometimes there is heavy flow and sometimes there is a horrible nightmarish pain. Some women get menstrual cramps because of the hormone-like substance known as prostaglandin that leads to uterine muscles contracting during periods.

The cramping can cause throbbing or dull pain in the lower part of the abdomen. Then, the pain will radiate to the lower back and to the thighs. In most cases, the cramps generally go away after the first or second day. There are a variety of menstrual disorders. And believe it or not, some of them have signs of life-threatening conditions. Therefore, it is important to treat menstrual disorders.

Common problems that women are dealing with.

But it does work for many since it reduces the cholesterol level in the body heavy blood flow. Drink a mixture of tamarind, dry plum and honey on an empty stomach. To get an effective result, try to drink it regularly for four to five days.

Orange juice

It has been found to be effective to treat heavy menstrual bleeding and pain. Mix orange juice and lemon juice four to five times a day. It assures high Vitamin C in the body.

Coriander

Drinking water added with coriander seeds act as a safe cure for treating heavy menstrual bleeding. You can make use of both coriander leaves and coriander seeds. You need to drink this herbal cure three to four times per day for the best result.

Gooseberry

Do you like to drink gooseberry juice? If yes, it can be used to treat a variety of health issues. Drink mint juice, curd and gooseberry juice together. Drink this regularly. Broccoli can be added as an effective remedy to alleviate heavy bleeding during periods.

Radish

Yes, you read that right. Radish functions as an effective remedy for heavy menstrual bleeding troubles. Make radish juice by blending radish with water and buttermilk. Apart from reducing menstrual bleeding, it also helps in promoting energy production in the body.

Types of period pain

Women suffer from different types of painful situations during monthly cycles. It can be pain in the lower or upper abdomen, lower or upper back pain, shoulder and neck pain and headache.

A number of women complain of vomiting, fatigue and dizziness due to the various changes in the endocrine flows in the body. At least, one in four girls complains of pain during the monthly cycle and the painful situation can be of varied intensity.

Women suffer from the changes in the volume of the brain part – gray matter during the flow. This part of the brain tissue contains nerve cells instead of fibre which is responsible for the transmission and pain control against emotional triggers.

The flow is connected to the endocrine release from the pituitary glands in the brain that is connected to the peripheral nerves. This should not be injured at any point, to enable the easy flow. You must be stress-free to prevent period cramps.

Women suffering from pain also suffer from changes in cognitive functioning. The cramps negatively affect workability. At least 40 per cent of women get PMS symptoms severe enough to disrupt their everyday work.

Women’s complained of irregular periods due to COVID-19

This is not all. Many women who have tested positive for COVID-19 have complained of irregular periods. Some have even noticed lighter periods; heavier periods; irregular periods and even missed periods.

Doctors say that missed periods during the course of infection, irregular cycles after recovery, spotting, heavy flows, abnormally longer period duration are some of the issues women have reported related to their menstrual cycle amid pandemic.

Rubber tree plant

While they need consistent moistness, they don’t want it to be soggy. Ensure that the pot the plant is in has adequate draining holes.

Use a dish under the pot lined with pebbles to catch extra water. This will keep the roots from sitting in water but provide the humidity as the water evaporates.

Croton plant

Before you water it, check the soil. If it is moist, don’t water it. Make sure that the soil is loose and is kept in a well-drained pot. The plant grows in bright light but it is away from direct sunlight. It is a beautiful plan that can be kept inside the home; potting it in a hanging basket is an excellent way to enjoy the beauty of this plant.

Fern

The delicate curled leaves that unfurl into long, lacy fronds look pretty. Go into the forest and you will find ferns carpeting the floor. They also make a great houseplant. They can grow in any kind of pot — clay to hanging baskets to ceramic and don’t require full sun to thrive.

But Indian weather is different. A plant that may live happily in any other environment needs a lot of care here. They love moisture. During the rainy season make sure you don’t overwater the plant or the roots will rot. You can even spray water on the leaves to lock the moisture in. You can keep this plant in the bathroom or even the kitchen.

Green Aralia

One of the most important things to keep in mind if you have a green aralia is that it has to be kept away from cold drafts and windows during the winter months to ensure that it thrives. It needs a feed once every other month during the spring. During the summer months, the plant needs liquid fertiliser. However, be careful if you buy this plant; it is mildly toxic to humans and pets. Ingestion can lead to gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

They are best as landscape plants. While watering aralia which is indoors, deep water is only when the soil is nearly dry. One of the most important things to keep in mind if you have a green aralia is that it has to be kept away from cold drafts and windows during the winter months to ensure that it thrives.

Pitcher plant

It is not always possible to ensure that the plant that you bring is going to live. Hence, it is important to take care of it properly. Let’s take the pitcher plant. So how does one take care of it if one wants to keep it indoors even if it is a carnivorous plant?

Depending on the species, some require full sunlight and those that originate in the floor of the rainforest may need filtered light. It requires moist soil, and keeps the potting soil moist, but not soggy. Allow the pot to drain thoroughly after watering and never let the pot stand in water or the roots will rot.

It is said that Jarvis organized the first Mother’s Day service of worship and celebration at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia, the US which serves as the International Mother’s Day Shrine today.

Did you also know that different countries celebrate this day in different months? Some countries celebrate this day in March. Mother’s Day in Egypt is celebrated on March 21, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. In Georgia Mother’s Day is celebrated on March 3.

For example, Bolivia’s Mother’s Day is a fixed date, commemorating a battle in which women participated to defend their children.
