How to control PCOS/PCOD, cure permanently at home with these diets

PCOS/PCOD is a disorder found in females that can not be cured permanently by medication. But still, some doctors prescribe you some pills which are not actually curing the problem but leading the sufferer to depression and mental disability.

The main affected system from PCOS is the menstrual cycle and in order to maintain that, most doctors prescribe contraceptive pills for the course of 21 days. Initially, you will feel that “yeah these pills have cured me, now my PCOD is all okay” but my friend it’s the start of damaging your mental state. Do not rely on any medicines. As I mentioned in the earlier article that PCOS/PCOD is a lifestyle disorder that means it just needs a balanced lifestyle.


For a balanced lifestyle, you must have a proper diet. In case of PCOS or even for weight loss one should divide their meal at specific times.

Eat normal breakfast with heavy lunch. Bit of snacks with light dinner. Include lots and lots of watery fruit in your diet. You must drink water- the more the better.

As soon as you wake up have a glass of Luke warm water as it removes toxins from your body, increases metabolism, improves digestion and absorption of food.

Then after a while go for your yoga/exercise. What you should go for yoga/exercise? It is a separate topic to discuss on, so I will land on it later. As for now, I am suggesting trying some of the food ideas for your specific meals.

For breakfast:

You can have Idli- Dosa (preferably of Ragi/ spinach/ moong dal, etc.), sprouts, Upma, brown bread sandwich, Oats (Oats with some plant-based milk- Almond milk or Coconut milk), Oats Chapati, etc.

For lunch:

As I said, keep your lunch heavier as your body needs essential protein, vitamins, carbohydrates, etc. Have a proper Indian plate of Dal, Curry, Chapati, rice(brown rice), and a full bowl of salad. Avoid drinking water just after your lunch instead drink it earlier.

Now I will sound stupid but trust me, Do include 1 full spoon of GHEE in your day ( most preferably in lunch). Ghee is termed as a good fat which our body requires so you must include it.

For evening snacks:

Some fruits, nuts, and home-made low-fat biscuits will work best for evening snacks. Make smoothies for yourself and replace sugar with jaggery or honey. Have green tea as it helps in increasing metabolism and flush out the toxins.

For dinner:

As dinner is the last meal of the day so let’s keep it simple and light. Have some green salad, vegetable soup, or porridge.


  • Include unprocessed Carbohydrates from wheat, millets, barley, buckwheat, etc.
  • Avoid processed food as much as you can.
  • Proteins from Grams, eggs, fish, or milk products
  • Essential fatty acids like omega- 3,6 from ghee, paneer, and oils like groundnut oil, olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil or mustard oil, etc.
  • Macronutrients like zinc, magnesium, potassium, calcium, etc. from veggies and nuts.
  • Don’t starve your body to lose weight as it will not counter PCOS instead it’ll trigger it.
  • Examine Yourself about caffeine intake whether it suits you or not then only go for coffee options.


Now after a long delay, we finally came to the most important topic. Yoga or exercise- which is best? So the answer to this question is- that both are very good for PCOS.

However, yoga becomes simple and relaxing while exercise, sometimes, becomes intense. But both of them have proven entirely effective in curing PCOS/PCOD.

For yoga:

Yoga is an ancient Indian method to make one’s body flexible, free from any disease, and maintain health. Yoga is a very calm and meditative process for any internal problem. A woman suffering from PCOS/PCOD can start their day with Surya namaskar ( sun salutation) at dawn.

And after this can do some anti PCOS asanas like- Titliasana ( Butterfly pose), Chakkichalana asana(Mill churning pose) , Navasana( Boat pose), Dhanurasana ( Bow pose),  Salabhasana (locust pose) and Sarvangasana( queen of asanas/ poses).


Exercise is an intensive workout that works faster. To start with exercise do a little warm-up by walking, running, and a few stretching. Then perform some exercises like-

  • Squats
  • Jumping jacks
  • Lunges
  • Crunches, etc.

You can also opt for Aerobics classes, gym, HIIT or you can even perform these exercises at home.

This will help you in detaining anxiety, depression, mental instability, and will improve your biological cycle of sleep. It will also improve your textured skin. All those acne marks will clear off. And your skin will again feel fresh and glowing. your hair will stop falling.

So this is all from my side. PCOS/PCOD is just a normal change in our lifestyle for good intentions. Do not take it negatively. Treat it for your sake and for your well-being. Have a fixed routine for your body, for your health. Have proper sleep, proper diet, have a cheat meal in a week or a cheat day in a month. Do not pressurize yourself.

While almost all green plants can be kept indoors, some plants need more attention than others which can be cumbersome if you have a busy schedule. But that doesn’t mean you can’t surround yourself with greenery. Let’s look at some best indoor plants for a home in India.

Rubber tree plant

It is fairly easy to maintain but is fussy when it comes to the amount of water it needs. Here is what you need to know if you have this plant. Rubber plants are rainforest specimens. While they need consistent moistness, they don’t want it to be soggy. Ensure that the pot the plant is in has adequate draining holes.

Use a dish under the pot lined with pebbles to catch extra water. This will keep the roots from sitting in water but provide the humidity as the water evaporates.

Croton plant

Its beautifully patterned leaves can brighten any space. Now that the rains are here in full force, it is important to ensure that you take care of all your plants. Overwatering can lead to root rot. An important thing to keep in mind is that the pot is well-drained. There is moisture in the air, overwatering will harm the plant. Croton also needs at least six to seven hours of sunshine but excess heat will damage its leaves. Try and keep the plant either East or West facing to make sure that the leaves don’t lose their colour.

English Ivy

It looks pretty and while it may look like it is an easy plant to look after, it is not the case. Like any other plant, this plant too will rot and its leaves will turn brown if you overwater them. Before you water it, check the soil. If it is moist, don’t water it. Make sure that the soil is loose and is kept in a well-drained pot. The plant grows in bright light but it is away from direct sunlight. It is a beautiful plan that can be kept inside the home; potting it in a hanging basket is an excellent way to enjoy the beauty of this plant.


The delicate curled leaves that unfurl into long, lacy fronds look pretty. Go into the forest and you will find ferns carpeting the floor. They also make a great houseplant. They can grow in any kind of pot — clay to hanging baskets to ceramic and don’t require full sun to thrive.

But Indian weather is different. A plant that may live happily in any other environment needs a lot of care here. They love moisture. During the rainy season make sure you don’t overwater the plant or the roots will rot. You can even spray water on the leaves to lock the moisture in. You can keep this plant in the bathroom or even the kitchen.

Green Aralia

One of the most important things to keep in mind if you have a green aralia is that it has to be kept away from cold drafts and windows during the winter months to ensure that it thrives. It needs a feed once every other month during the spring. During the summer months, the plant needs liquid fertiliser. However, be careful if you buy this plant; it is mildly toxic to humans and pets. Ingestion can lead to gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

They are best as landscape plants. While watering aralia which is indoors, deep water is only when the soil is nearly dry. One of the most important things to keep in mind if you have a green aralia is that it has to be kept away from cold drafts and windows during the winter months to ensure that it thrives.

Pitcher plant

It is not always possible to ensure that the plant that you bring is going to live. Hence, it is important to take care of it properly. Let’s take the pitcher plant. So how does one take care of it if one wants to keep it indoors even if it is a carnivorous plant?

Depending on the species, some require full sunlight and those that originate in the floor of the rainforest may need filtered light. It requires moist soil, and keeps the potting soil moist, but not soggy. Allow the pot to drain thoroughly after watering and never let the pot stand in water or the roots will rot.

For example, Bolivia’s Mother’s Day is a fixed date, commemorating a battle in which women participated to defend their children. In India, the concept of celebrating Mother’s Day is new. This could be because we have traditionally been respectful of our mothers and have been revering them for generations.
